Cairo Amman Bank is constantly following up on developments related to information protection and updating its operations and procedures to ensure adherence to the highest practices of the banking industry in this field. Whether you choose to deal with us through our financial centers/branches, ATMs, phone banking, or internet banking, we remain committed to protecting your information whether it is collected, used, or shared.

Having received the international specifications and standards ISO certificate and accreditation (ISO 27001), which is concerned with information security, Cairo Amman Bank is the first institution in Jordan to receive this accreditation, and thus Jordan has been listed among the countries in which institutions have achieved this international accreditation.

This accreditation further offers:

  • Setting the parameters of the bank’s information security system and building an integrated system based on continuous processes whose application leads to the desired protection and continuous development based on an approved methodology.
  • An indication of the bank’s commitment at all levels to protect the rights and privacy of customers.
  • Enhancing customers’ trust and their view of the bank, and thus increasing the trust of our business partners. The ultimate factor to distinguish between competing banks is to enhance awareness of the security and confidentiality of information within the bank.

Phishing:

Fraudulent emails are used by criminals to lure you to fake websites, which resemble original websites of financial institutions and ask you to disclose personal information such as account number, credit card number, PIN code or any other confidential information.

How to protect yourself from phishing?

  • Cairo Amman Bank will never ask about any confidential information (account number, credit card number, PIN code, etc.) through email, text messages or phone.
  • If you receive any such request for information, please ignore it without responding and refer to your branch immediately.

Password Tips:

  • Passwords provide the first line of defense against unauthorized access to your account(s). The stronger your password, the more protected your account information will be from hackers and malicious software. The following are some tips that you can consider to protect your password.
  • Do not use dictionary words, make the password at least eight characters long, include numbers, capital letters, and symbols.
  • Do not use your personal information such as your name, family name, or your phone number as a password.
  • Do not post your password on plain sight.
  • Don’t use just one password for different accounts.
  • Change your password periodically. Make sure your new password is significantly different from previous passwords.

Follow these cybersecurity guidelines for secure online banking:

  • Ensure that firewalls, virus scanners, and endpoint security are in place and updated regularly.
  • Keep your devices when traveling:
    1. Do not save your profile details or account data (username and password) on your mobile device.
    2. Do not use shared or public Wi-Fi networks. Use only password-protected Wi-Fi networks with a minimum WPA2 standard.
    3. It is recommended to use a cellular network instead of a Wi-Fi network for sensitive operations such as connecting to any of Cairo Amman Bank and LINC platforms (either via the web or mobile applications).
    4. When traveling, always use a trusted device (computer or mobile phone).
    5. Keep your device up to date with the manufacturer’s latest updates and avoid using a jailbroken device with any unauthorized modification.
    6. Avoid sharing your mobile device/computer with others. Enable a password or PIN and auto-lock your devices to prevent others from using them in the event of theft.
    7. Never leave your laptop, mobile device, or computer unattended after logging in to any of Cairo Amman Bank or LINC banking platforms.
    8. When you finish using any of Cairo Amman Bank or LINC platforms, always make sure to log out, clear your history and close the browser.

Protecting Your Personal Information and Security Device:

  • Do not share with anyone your username and password to access the electronic channels of Cairo Amman Bank or any other banking platforms. Sharing your username and password puts you at risk and you are solely responsible for any activity completed under your username.

Best Practices:

  • We, at Cairo Amman Bank, did not and will not ask you for any information related to your accounts with us, such as the account number and password via email, text messages, phone, or social media.
  • In the event of such requests, please inform your branch immediately or call us at 065007700 or send an email to cybersecurity@cab.jo.
